Jogging Lights

Radio host John Williams has the 3 to 7 pm slot on WGN AM 720. He heard of my work for  Kathy and Judy's (hosts of their own show on WGN) science fair booth and asked for my help on a project.  Every New Year's Eve, John runs around his neighborhood wearing boxer shorts and Converse hightop shoes. He's developed quite an audience for his annual run so this year he wanted to add some really bright lights to his wardrobe for visual effect. I came up with 4 strings of 12 Christmas lights for each arm and leg, rechargeable batteries in a waist pack and a handheld flashing switch. John called me happily on January 1st to tell me that the lights were a hit.
