Concept:

Make a globe and rig actual capacitors around its circumference.

The globe is a glass light fixture with painted continents and oceans. The mounting rod is attached through an opening in the back. The tapes holding the capacitors were strengthened with metal and plastic strips. The photographer later confessed the globe made him fearful of dropping it.
